Cookies and site storage
Everything this site keeps in your browser, what each item does, how long it stays and how to change your mind. Measurement cookies appear only if you press Accept.

The short version
- The site’s own code sets no cookies. It keeps one small item in your browser: your answer to the cookie banner.
- Google and Meta tools, if we switch them on, load only after you press Accept. They set the cookies listed below.
- Decline, and none of them loads. The site works exactly the same.
- You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
The cookie banner
When measurement tools are switched on, a banner at the bottom of the screen asks on your first visit whether you accept them. It has two buttons of the same size, Accept and Decline, and a link to this page.
- Accept loads the tools we have set up: Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag, the Meta Pixel, or some of them. They set the cookies in the second table below and receive what the privacy policy describes.
- Decline loads none of them. No cookie is set, and their code never runs.
- Until you answer, the site behaves as if you declined.
Your answer is saved in this browser and applies to every page of this site. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as Decline and do not show the banner. You can still open it from Cookie settings and accept.
What the site itself stores
One item, in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
dss-consent | Your answer to the cookie banner: accepted or declined, and whether your browser was sending Global Privacy Control when you accepted. | Until you clear this site’s data in your browser |
Cookies set only after you accept
Google’s and Meta’s code sets these on this site’s address, and only after you press Accept. The Google cookies appear only if Google Analytics or Google Ads is set up on the site at the time, the Meta ones only if the Meta Pixel is. The lifetimes are each company’s standard ones, and a return visit can renew them.
| Cookie | Set by | What for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells one browser from another, so visits and pages can be counted without naming you to us. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit for our Analytics account. | Up to 2 years |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Links a tap on our phone number or an estimate request to an earlier Google ad. | Up to 90 days |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads | Set only when you arrive from a Google ad, to hold its click ID. Similar _gcl_ cookies cover other kinds of Google ad clicks. | Up to 90 days |
_fbp | Meta Pixel | Recognizes your browser from visit to visit, so Meta can measure our ads and show them to people who have visited this site. | Up to 90 days |
_fbc | Meta Pixel | Set only when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram link that carries Meta’s click ID, so Meta can credit a request to that ad or post. | Up to 90 days |
When their code runs here, Google and Meta can also use cookies on their own addresses, such as google.com, doubleclick.net or facebook.com, where your browser allows it. This site cannot read or delete those. They fall under the Google privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and the Meta privacy policy (opens in a new tab). No ads are shown on this site itself.
Changing your mind
Press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. The banner opens again and shows your current setting.
- Choose Decline after an earlier Accept, and the site deletes the cookies in the table above from this site’s address, reloads the page without the tools and does not load them again.
- Choose Accept after a Decline, and they load from then on.
Browser controls
- Every browser can block or delete cookies and site data for a single site. Look for “Site settings” or “Privacy” in your browser’s menu. Clearing site data also clears your cookie choice, so the banner asks again.
- Private or incognito windows drop everything above when you close them.
- Google publishes an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (opens in a new tab). It covers Google Analytics only.
Blocking all of it does not break this site. The estimate form, the phone number, the gallery and the stain colors keep working.
